What is the Bookbyte Database Template?
|
|
The Bookbyte Database Template is a free pre-built Excel spreadsheet available for download for Volume Sellers. The spreadsheet can be used to store your item information and is easily uploaded to the Bookbyte Bazaar. Please note, the spreadsheet has two listings already filled in that may be used as an example.

How do I download it?
|

Go to you Seller Account Page and click "Upload multiple items via loader file (volume sellers only)". Then choose "Download Bookbyte Database Template".

How do I download my online inventory from the Bookbyte Bazaar?
|
|
This option is not yet available, but is coming soon. This option will be especially helpful for Individual Sellers that have listed their inventory one at a time and wish to upgrade to a Volume Seller.

What is Homebase?
|
|
Homebase is a free Inventory Management System available for download through Abebooks.
|
|
|
What is the Amazon standard upload?
|
|
Amazon offers a downloadable pre-built excel spreadsheet to their Volume Sellers. If you work with this template and are currently uploading files to Amazon, you may simply upload the same file to us.

I have inventory on Amazon Marketplace, how do I upload it to the Bookbyte Bazaar?
|
|
All you need to do to upload your Amazon Maketplace inventory is upload the same file you upload to Amazon to us. To do this, simply go the Seller Account Page and click "Volume Seller Tools" and then choose "Upload Your Inventory." From there choose "Amazon Compatable Uploads."

Can I list a book without an ISBN?
|
|
Not at this time.
|
|
|
What is comma separated (*.csv) format?
|
|
Comma Seperated (*.csv) format is a file saved from Excel where all the information is separated by commas. To save a file in comma separated format, choose CSV (comma delimited) when you save the file by type.

What is a tab delimited (*.tab) format?
|
|
Tab Delimited is a file saved from Excel where the information is separated by a tab space. To save a file in tab delimited format, choose Text (Tab Delimited) when you save the file.

What is UIEE (*.msg)?
|
|
UIEE stands for Universal Information Exchange Environment. It is a database application which allows Sellers to export information into a standardized format. Such databases are Homebase, BookMate Pro and Record Manager. The UIEE format is a text file in that each field in a UIEE file is identified by two letters and a pipe (the keyboard symbol that looks like a vertical line).

What is an add/modify/delete?
|
|
Add/Modify/Delete is a file format in which a Seller would add to, change or remove already existing listings on the Bookbyte Bazaar. If you are uploading your inventory to the Bazaar for the first time, you would want to send an add/modify/delete because you would be adding listings.

What is a purge and replace?
|
|
A purge and replace is a mechanism which allows the Seller to remove all listings from the Bookbyte Bazaar, and replace them with the listings in the new file. We recommend to upload a purge and replace at least once a month to ensure all listings are accurate.
|

|
What is a purge (remove all listings)?
|
|
A purge, without replace, is an easy and quick way in which to remove all your listings from the Bookbyte Bazaar. This can be done by going to any of the upload pages and simply choosing the purge (remove all listings) option and clicking upload. No file needs to be sent.

What does checking the, "Yes, I will offer expedited shipping" do?
|
|
This lets the Buyer know, with an increased cost, you will to ship the item quickly via an expedited shipping method. Expedited shipping methods include USPS Priority Mail or a ground service such as UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. When the box is checked, all your listings will show online as offering expedited shipping. If you have an item for which you would not want to offer expedited shipping, for example an especially heavy or oversized book, you may edit that individual listing. From the edit page, simply type "no" in the expedited shipping column.

Can I offer international shipping?
|
|
At this time, Sellers may not offer international shipping on the Bookbyte Bazaar.
|

How do I know my upload was a success?
|
|
After you click "Upload", a page will come up to let you know that we have received your file. Once the upload is completed and processed, you will receive an email. Simply click the link to "Loader History" to see how many listings were Inserted, Updated, and Deleted. Also, you will be able to access a list of any errors in the file.

How quickly will my inventory be uploaded and available for sale?
|
|
We process the upload files usually within two hours. The time may increase during peak times or if an especially large file is uploaded. For the most part, add/modify/deletes are processed very quickly, while purge and replace files take more time to process. Once the processing is complete, you will be sent an email notification and your inventory will be available for sale on the Bookbyte Bazaar.

What if my upload has errors?
|
|
Once the upload is complete, an email will be sent to you with a link to your Loader History which shows the results of the upload. Click View to bring you to a list of any errors which includes all the listing information and the reason for the error.
|
|
|
How do I check my past uploads?
|
|
From the Seller Account, click "Loader History." This will take you to a list which shows how many records were Inserted, Updated and Deleted. You may also view a list of any errors.
|
|
|
Once my inventory is uploaded can I change a listing?
|
|
From your Seller Account, choose "Items for Sale." Search for the listing you wish to change or edit, and click "Edit." Make any changes you wish, and click "Update." If you do not wish to make any changes click "Cancel" or hit the back button on your web browser. Any changes made show online immediately.

If I edit an individual listing how soon will the changes show online?
|
|
Immediately.
|
|
|
Can I change my status to "On Vacation"?
|
|
If you do not want your inventory to be available for sale for a short time, simply contact our customer service team at customerservice@bookbyte.com, and we will place your listings on hold.
|
|
|
How do I remove all my listings?
|
|
Choose Volume Seller Tools from the Seller Account Page, and click the Bookbyte Uploads Link. Once on the Bookbyte Uploads page, click Purge (Remove all listings) and then click the Upload button; there is no need to find an upload file. Once the upload is processed, all your inventory will be removed from the Bookbyte Bazaar.
