What is an eBook?
- An electronic or digital copy of the book, such as a PDF version.
What are my payment options?
At our store location, we also accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and debit cards.
Online, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, debit cards and PayPal. For added security, we use AVS (address verification system). The billing address you enter in your order must match the one your financial institution or credit card company has on file, or your payment will be declined and your order will be cancelled. How do I set up a PayPal account?
- Sign up at www.paypal.com to link your credit card or bank account to a PayPal account.
Can I order over the phone?
- No; we do not accept phone orders.
Can I walk up to reception, order a book, pay for it and receive it there?
- Yes, our front counter is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm
Do you accept cash and check payments at your front office?
- We accept cash, check, debit cards, and Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. We do not accept PayPal for our walk in customers.
Can I order a book online and pick it up at your office?
Yes. You can place your order online, then pick it up at our location and save money on shipping costs.
Simply place your order on this site as you normally would. Choose "pickup" as your shipping option. Instead of being charged $3.65 for shipping, you'll only be charged $1.00 for handling. Wait for your e-mail that says your order is ready. Present your e-mail with your confirmation and an ID, and you're done.
Orders placed may not be ready the same day, but should be ready no later than the next standard business day. Orders placed for pickup must be pre-paid by credit card through the web site.
When is my credit card charged?
- For orders placed directly from Bookbyte the card is charged as soon as the Submit button is clicked. For Marketplace orders they are charged when the seller confirms the order.

What is AVS (address verification system)?
- Bookbyte uses AVS (address verification system) when charging the customer's credit/debit card. This means that the billing address you enter must match the address that your financial institution or credit card company has on file (usually where the statement is sent). If the addresses do not match, the card is declined and the order does not go through. Please know that if this happens, your financial institution or credit card company puts a temporary hold on those funds (the amount of the declined charge) for 24-72 hours.

- Each order is subject to verification prior to shipping.
Orders received by 7:30am PST Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) usually ship the same day.

Marketplace orders ship two business days after the order is confirmed by the seller.
How long will my order take to reach me?
- Your order will normally leave our warehouse within 24 hours, usually in much less time than that. After that, USPS or UPS/Fed Ex will deliver it to you within the timeframe you requested when you chose a shipping method for your order.
USPS Media mail normally takes 5-20 days to be delivered.
Expedited shipping (USPS Priority mail, UPS/FED EX ground) takes 3-5 business days to be delivered.
90% of our books shipped Expedited are delivered in 2-5 days. At times, based on weather and distance from our shipping location, some orders may take a few additional days. Faster shipping methods are available at a higher cost.
